School Days

Back to school, it's Valentines Day for all you romantics out there.
I've just discovered I have to maintain this blog and add to it for the Customer Service class.
So....I figured I better practise.
I'll try and figure out how to make it interesting....soon.
Here is our website, just to see if I can get a link to work :
www.keepquilting.com.au
And that's enough for now.

Monday 9 December 2013

Hello, it's me - back again!
I know, it's been a long time since my last post (hmmmm....showing my Catholic upbringing there just a tad, sounds like the confessional!)
Michele - Thankyou for the virtual slap on the wrist - I am still not comfortable with the blogging thing, I've just spent over half an hour finding this, but find it I did, so here goes :
I've just survived my second youngest child turning 18. None of us are completely recovered yet, and the weather here isn't helping. Totally miserable. Rain, rain, rain. Our court has flooded twice in the last week. BUT we had great weather for the Birthday Girl. Thank Goodness for that.
Just one more to 'officially' become an adult, and they'll all be over 18. Wow, I'm OLD.
We went and watched Insidious, Chapter 2 today. I'm just a big kid really, inside me is a person who looks into the mirror and goes 'What the? '. If you're into scary movies, and have seen the first one, it's very good. I'm not much good as a critic, as I'm quite easily pleased, but I know what I like, and this one ticked the boxes. Scary without being gory, I'm not into too much gore. The 'Saw' series is not quite my cuppa tea, just makes me cringe. But I like a good scare.
We haven't eaten very well since the birthday - I'm ashamed to say yesterdays breakfast was chocolate cake, coffee and a few cheezels. Oh well. Tuff. I'll make up for it if it ever stops raining!
But we don't want it to get too hot - well I don't, although my 2 youngest like to go check out the boys on the beach and therefore quite like it when it gets hot. I'd rather stay inside in air-conditioned comfort if it gets over 30 degrees. Yes, I know, here I am waffling about shitty weather and then saying if it gets hot I'll stay inside - there's just no pleasing some people!
I'm hoping to get my sewing mojo back now that the pressure has lifted somewhat with school finishing....for myself and the family.

One thing I really want to say :

2013 (except for school for me) has been a really bad year for us. My Mum died in May, Charles had a really difficult time recovering from his surgery in October. We've had various family members ill or hurt under very difficult circumstances. My health has felt very precarious, I can't remember the last time I had a day that was pain-free. It has been incredibly difficult to cope with all of it. Some days I've just felt I couldn't continue, it was just too hard....and I know a lot of people say that you should never wish time away, as we all know our time is too short.....but I really want this year to be over and done.
Bring on 2014, we really need a fresh, hopeful start for the New Year.

To anyone who has taken the time to read this, I wish you and all your family, friends, work colleagues and anybody else you bump into a fresh, healthy, happy, safe & joyous New Year.
